In Times of Sorrow...

My best friend's father just passed away at 6pm 5th February 2010. He left behind a wife and 2 daughters (both in early 30s), both of whom are very close friends to hubby and me.

Hubby and I spent few hours chatting with her via mobile early this morning, hoping we can comfort her in this times of sorrow and sadness.

I shared my experiences with her when my parents passed away, how the undertaker handled the process right from the hospital morgue to the crematorium and so on. I shared to her things to take note as her dad's funeral matters are handled by a close friend of her father's. (I'm not going to write about all this in the same post here as I'm dedicating this post to her and her family.)

So, to my dear best friend,

Take care. Rest well and have faith in God. It is already an amazing testament that your father had been such a strong fighter (he had dialysis for almost 13 years due to kidney problems), do remember, God's timing is always right and everything happens according to His will.

Take comfort that your family and yourself had the chance to spend time with him during his last few moments on Earth. Cherish those moments and please take care of your mother now she's living on without her life partner for 3 decades.

We will pray for your strength to overcome this tough times, ok? The pain will go away in time, yes, there will be loads and loads of crying and sadness but trust me, the pain will heal. Have faith that he is now up there in heaven with our Lord, still looking and watching over you guys. Pray that we will all see our loved ones one day when our time comes to return to our Lord.

Luv you loads, dearest friend...

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 30:5
Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Lamentations 3:31-33
For men are not cast off by the Lord forever.Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to the children of men.

John 14:1-4
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God[; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.

Hi Kat,
I'm in Malaysia, so not possible to go to the Bloggy Boot Camp :( Sounds fun though!

Hi Vivienne, Polly & Low Expectations
Thanks for your condolences. I printed out this blog post and passed to my friend for reading when she can (that was before I get these comments)

Hubby and I just got home from the funeral service about half an hour ago. My best friend is handling it well and seems OK. Thank you all for your concerns & prayers. God bless you all..
