Our Port Dickson trip...

We went for a weekend (5 & 6 June 2010) family outing to Port Dickson, one of the nearest beach with my brother's family and hubby's brother's family - total 6 adults, 1 going to be-teen and 4 children (1 of whom is Ben, a toddling toddler  :P)

This was Ben, 5 minutes right after leaving our house - happy and having fun cos' we're all going out! We were heading towards hubby's brother's house which was about 30 minutes car ride to meet them up for lunch first before heading off to Port Dickson.
The trip to Port Dickson is about 1 hour plus but unfortunately it took us a bit longer as we were caught in a traffic jam halfway (the school holidays just started so everybody seems to be heading back to their hometown and the highway we took was one of the main highway to head south) After almost 1 hour plus of long straight road with nothing much interesting stuff to ogle at, we finally started to see some sea view... which was very refreshing and immediately we started to get excited all over again... :D
This is one of the main welcome signage when we reached the town of Port Dickson (I think...) I love it! Looks very creative don't you think?
We met up with my brother and his family at the resort (they stayed less than 1 hour away from Port Dickson) After we checked into our apartment (4 beds, 4 toilets, 2 dining halls, 2 living rooms and 1 very very lovely spiral staircase leading up to the 2nd floor where our bedrooms are located), we settled down, while my sister in law got ready heating up the food for dinner in a few hours time. The sun is still blazing hot so we decided to stay in and the kids played Wii in one of the living rooms while I went up to our room and nursed Ben and nap for a while.

About 6pm, we got ready and head onto the swimming pool about 5 minutes walking distance from our apartment. The pool we went in which is for children are actually very nice to play in and its not deep at all. Ben actually stood in it and the water reached his chest level.
Picture of Ben in this spaceship float (belongs to my niece) - Ben really loves the water! Even though my nieces were happily splashing water at his directions (and to his face!), he doesn't even fuss or cry at all. He just wipes his face and show us his cheeky smile! On a few occasions, I even caught him trying to lick the water dripping off his face! Yikes! :P
Picture above was the children's pool taken after 7pm when the pools are closed to all. There is actually a bigger pool further in with sands at the edge, kinda mimicking the beach but we didn't venture in since the pool we went are more kiddy-friendly and nicer to play in and had more benches around for us to put our belongings.
This is the view of our apartment from far. All of us were heading back to the apartment and the sky looks so magnificent that I've just gotta take a shot of it. Unfortunately, there's no elevator so we all have to climb up and down 3 flights of stairs every time we go out. Not complaining considering the apartment we rented was cheap and comfortable.
This is day 2 (also our last day at Port Dickson) and once again, we all went to the pool to play one last time in the morning. This round, we suited Ben up! :D
Picture of Ben wading in the pool in his spaceship float again.
And this is Ben in a smaller float and he was actually walking by himself in the pool! Attaboy! :D

I am not able to take anymore pictures as my digital camera ran out of battery after that and I did not bring the charger along... After we played in the pool, we went back to our apartment, rest and went out to one of the beach and just let the kids played on the beach, building sandcastles and stuff. We left Port Dickson by 8pm after we all had our dinner.Took us 2 hours to reach our home because of some minor slow moving traffic along the highway as well...

All in all, it was nice to have a quick getaway although I would've wanted at least 1 more day cos 2D 1N trip is kinda rushed and too short to fully enjoy the place. But then Port Dickson is very very hot and to be back home is also kind of comforting as well, especially when you misses your own comfy bed and all the delicious food you get to eat back home :P... Till then, thanks for reading! :D
