Inspiring Quotes to Ponder...

Got this from an email forward from a friend. Thought of sharing some of the nicer ones (in my own opinion... :p) in my blog. I also added some of my personal thoughts from the quotes shared here... Here goes...

"Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about."

How true! You know the usual saying of "Life is always greener at the other side"?... I think people who believe in that saying should try to adopt this quote instead.

I mean, maybe the grass are greener at the other side because the owner spend tons of money to get good quality grass / water / fertilizer or whatever that is to make those grass stays green!

We don't think of what other people do or sacrifice in order to get to where they are, we are too busy (and shallow perhaps?) to just look at how successful, how rich, how good looking other people are and spend /waste our time trying to compare and beat them to the race...

You know, Chinese people have this saying "Yan Pei Yan, Pei Sei Yan" ("Human compare with human, compare to death".. something like this... sorry, not very good at translating it :P) The point is, God made each one of us unique individual... so why compare?

"What other people think of you is none of your business."

I do need to point out that this happened to me while I was in the midst of negotiations with my previous company to work part-time so that I can care for my 3 mths old boy then.

Yes, I should not care about what other people think of me... except my supervisor's boss complained and back stabbed me to our CEO and said that I will not be committed to my work once they allow me to work part-time.

I made up my mind to quit and stop all negotiations. I mean, what's the point of still able to work part-time when people are slandering my names behind my back? (and to think this boss can still smile right in front of me as if the fellow never backstabs me at all!) I've been working in that company longer than that boss and all the users know how committed I was at work, but still this happened... The last I heard, the new system has been delayed again and that boss has been scolded by the CEO for the delay. Anyway, those are in the past now... moving on people...

"No one is in charge of your happiness except you.". Yup! You are living your own life... So, you are responsible for your own happiness. Not others!

For me, I don't feel happy working on with sh*tty people in my previous company, so I moved on...

Of course, for those of you who are working, I'm not saying you should quit and change job everytime some one makes you unhappy at work or backstabs you in front of big bosses behind your back. If you do this, you'll run out of job soon! :P

Work is work. We should not let our emotions ruled our work life. In my case, if I don't have any other choice, I would've bite my lips and soldiered on as if nothing happens. But I do have a choice. It's either work on, get my high pay and continue to get slandered by sh*tty people OR focus on being a SAHM and raise my own child in my own way. I chose the later option even though it means no more salary coming in cos I feel that I'd be happier that way, and yes, it is!

"However good or bad a situation is, it will change."

Yes... for those of you who are having a hard time, hang in there, pray for God's direction and wait for the storm to pass.

It's not the end of the world. After the rain, there is a rainbow, you know! :D

And those of you who are enjoying your good life now, enjoy it, savor every moment, give thanks to God for it and don't waste your time over unnecessary things.

I think, whether it is good times or bad times, we have to give thanks to God for we are still alive on this earth to enjoy one more day! :D

"Live with the 3E's... Energy, Enthusiasm, Empathy, and the 3 F's... Faith, Family, Friends."

Attack your life with energy, enthusiasm and empathy! Live life to the fullest!

After all, you only get to live once, you know! :D

Wherever you are, whether you are climbing up the corporate ladder, or stuck in the rut, or you left your working life behind to stay at home only to work for a new boss (aka your child)... always remember to have faith in everything you do, don't forget your family and friends.

How about you? Do you have any inspiring quotes that you would like to share?
